 1. Welcome to the New Year!

Christmas has come and gone, and it is a New Year! Just like many of you have probably made resolutions, you will see some changes in the way we do things here at Community Connections, INC. Mostly we will be streamlining some of our procedures to be more in line with our administrative structure. (More on that later) As we move forward, we hope all of us can work as a team to make this year a prosperous one for all of us. With new clients lined up for February, we are already growing again, and we are very happy to be adding to our already great team!

 2. Recent Activities/Recognition

Last month we had our annual company Christmas party, and we can say it was a tremendous success! Thank you all for coming out and giving us the opportunity to provide such a joyous event for our clients. We had such a packed room, and hopefully next year we will have to rent out the stadium to have room for everyone!

We would also like to announce that starting February 2008, we will be giving you guys the chance to nominate your coworkers for employee of the month! Starting on the 1st, come by the office and fill out a nomination form. We realize that you can really only nominate someone who works in your home, but if someone is going above and beyond, let us know about it! We will have a plaque and there will be other forms of recognition, so it will be worth the effort.

While we are going to allow you guys to help us choose the “Employee of the Month”, all of us at the office would like to announce our “Employee of the Year”. For those of you who attended our Christmas party, you may remember someone going absolutely crazy with joy upon opening her Christmas bonus. This person also thanks us every payday for employing her, and is always willing to pick up shifts on VERY short notice. Due to her extremely upbeat attitude and overwhelmingly positive attitude towards her job, we are very pleased to announce that Mrs. Teresa Evans is Community Connections Employee of the Year for 2007!!!!! Make sure you congratulate her when you see her, and keep in mind every shift you work is an opportunity to show why you should be considered as our Employee of the Year for 2008.

 3. Upcoming Activities

Don’t forget that Community Connections offers a $10 discount on any employee purchase from Angel Food Ministries. This month’s deadline is February 4th, and we would like to have all orders in by 8 am on that day. This is really great for all the busy parents who don’t have the time to cook every night or shop all the time! You may call the office at (812)238-8800 for the menu or to place your order!

We will be having a company outing for our clients on Saturday, February 16th. We will be going to an ISU men’s basketball game. They are playing Illinois State. We will have a list at the office, where you can call for more information. There will be ISU t-shirts provided to all the clients as well so they can show their support.

 4. Procedure Changes

For those that were at our recent round of home meetings, most of this section will be old news. We do want to recap for those that missed it.

v     All time sheets are now due in the office no later than 9am on Friday. They still need to be turned in to the home manager; we just need them a few days earlier.

v      We have changed our job duties here in the office. Jami will be taking care of all client issues, Logan will be taking care of all staffing issues, and Karen will be taking care of all employee finances and office misc. Please refer to the appropriate person when calling the office.

v      Please take notice of the new timesheets. We need to be keeping track of shared hours with clients and one on one hours with the clients. Ask your home manager for assistance if you are unsure how to fill these out.

v      You will find an availability form in this weeks pay stub. This needs to be filled out and returned to the office by Friday, February 1st. Please include an up to date phone number. We will be updating these periodically to make sure we can schedule accordingly. It will help us give you guys the schedule you prefer, and also help us to find coverage in emergencies.
